Our Heart for Sundays

Gathering together every Sunday is central for our church’s life and mission: everything we believe comes together in Sunday worship, and everything we aim to be and do as a church flows out of Sunday worship. Meeting together each week is a source of incomparable joy and strength as it is our opportunity to connect with God through worship, teaching and prayer in community.

What to Expect

Welcome

The church is a community where everyone is welcomed as they are. We believe the church is not a club or a clique built on what we have (or haven’t) accomplished. Rather, the church is built upon what Jesus has accomplished. Whether this is all new to you, or you've grown up in church, we would love to meet you and welcome you into this community!

Worship

We believe that God alone is the one worthy of all our utmost affection and attention, so we begin Sundays by celebrating him together. Worship is not just about singing, but our whole lives being offered to God in worship; heart, soul, strength, and mind (Matthew 22:37). Worship is about centring our lives on what we love most.

Giving

Our money flows freely towards the things that we love. As a church, we give not only to honour God but because we acknowledge all we have received has come from the grace and generosity of God.

We are not under compulsion to give; rather, we want to offer cheerfully what God has placed on our hearts. If you would like to give to the work of the church you can do so by using the contactless tithe device on a Sunday, or give online.

Kids & Crèche

Our vision is to see kids and families encounter Jesus, explore faith, enjoy the church and be equipped for life.

"Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it - Proverbs 22:6 (NIV UK)."

Each Sunday we have a team of DBS checked volunteers ready to take care of all under 12's during the service. Parents/guardians can leave children with the team from 10.45 am upon arrival at Central Foundation Boy's School!

Family Lounge

During the service, you’ll find a family lounge at the end of the hall opposite the main toilets. In this room, parents with younger children will find age-appropriate toys and a changing table. A video feed of the main service is also available.

Teachings

Each Sunday we reflect on teachings from the Bible to learn more about Jesus and building relationships centred on him. We believe that the Bible is God’s word, authority for all life and practice, a library of writings that tell a unified story leading us to Jesus.

In reading and exploring the Bible, we expect to be surprised, healed, challenged and changed. If you would like to listen to teachings from previous Sundays, head to our Teachings page.

Response

As we hear about and experience who God is and what he has done for us in Jesus, we are invited to believe, receive and act. In response, we sing to God and pray by simply talking to him about what he has spoken to us.

A Prayer Team is also available to pray for you in person, bringing your requests to God on your behalf and you can also submit your prayer request here.
Prayer Request

Receive

Jesus is always calling us and inviting us to know him and follow him. One way we can respond to Jesus on Sundays is through personal prayer. If you are still considering Christ and his claims, we invite you to enjoy the peace of this moment and consider what it means to trust him.
